(“Gruul the Dragonkiller…killed!” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it ok!)
Well after the unexpected hotfix, never one to look a gift horse in the mouth we decided to make the most of the changes and see what happens. We’d had several good previous tries and were getting there so it was no real surprise the altered version went down and went down hard!
Loot was:
- Collar of Cho’gall – Arkos
- Gauntlets of the Dragonslayer – Razyen
- Leggings of the Fallen Hero – Lórien
Apart from the bugged Hurtfull Strike, he’s definately around where he should be in terms of difficulty, so kudos to Blizz for bringing the changes forward like that. Some may say he’s now too easy but tbh this guy was never meant to be the real challenge of the Burning Crusade and its silly to try to defend the old version imo. Your average guild is still gonna take time to learn him but they are not hitting the sheer brick wall that he was prior to the changes.
Malefic Mask of the Shadows every Maulgar kill so far now!!!
As much as we love our Feral Druids and the odd confused Rogue, WTB Different loot! That is all! P.S. Buff Shaman!
Nightbane went down in flames in another fine kill by the DPC folks! Loot was the Warrior tanking Chestpiece and the healer neck which went to Mavranic and Kalistra respectively. All in all a fun fight but much higher difficulty compared to most of Karazhan.
(Another late update, apologies, actual kill date was 23/02/2007, pre-2.0.10 nerfed Version!)
Chalk up another kill…King Maulgar and his Ogre Council dead on the first night of tries! We had a quick look at Gruul the Dragonkiller which looks to be quite a fun fight as well but didn’t stay too long that night but hey we will be back to pay him a few more visits!
Movie now available: Here
Loot was the Tier 4 Shoulders for Benisaro and Malefic Mask of the Shadows for Lanariel (nerf druid loot?), you can see the linkage on the Latest Drops mod which nicely ties in ofc with the implementation of the new BC DKP tables! While we wont be using DKP for Karazhan we will still be using it for the 25mans so we’ve implemented the new table based on the values carried over from the previous Primary table to close the gaps as it’s largely a fresh start for many in the Burning Crusade. DKP/Auction systems are pretty much unchanged from what we were using before, we’ve just simplfied the values etc so the guildies will already be familair with how it works.
(Pop quiz, who other than anyone remotely scottish actually knows what “giving someone the Malkey is?)
Picture says it all really, Prince Malchezaar killed by our guys for the server first kill on Aggramar. Loot was the Tier 4 Helm for Umodoko, Farstrider Wilder Cloak and Light’s Justice.
They’re currently working on the quest now to summon Nightbane so only him and the random animal boss left to kill (but who cares about the animal one anyway!).
Onward to the 25mans soon!
…but we’ll skip the Bjork screaming bit!
Yep things have been a little quiet on the news front of late, largley due to the fact everyones all busying playing some “Brummie Crusade” thingy, dunno sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me!
Anyway, ofc we’re all hooked to the Burning Crusade and making some nice headway having good fun in the process with all the new content. I’ve leveled my Draenei Shaman Fuchikoma to 70 (lolol u haev no lief kek!), first one on the server and woulda been the first new race to 70 but nerf work! We’ve had one group already running Karazhan which recently killed the Shade of Aran and we’re starting to run a 2nd and possibly third Karazhan group as well so its all busy busy busy!
P.S. To get the questions out the way: Yes I soloed it all other than the odd instance run so was no powerleveling going on via Guild members or Chinamen or indeed bots though I did take great pleasure in annoying some of the multiple whispers with replies like “bee dee bee dee heya buck!” or “This is an automated reply, the user is currently afk watching porn, please try again at a later time”. Questing ftw, no grinding was necessary and once I hit 58 I headed into outland and yes I did enjoy the content, I was off work for 2 weeks so leveled 1-58 fast then took my time more 58+ in Outland though still leveled fast because blizz nerfed the XP per level requirements from beta…nubs! Oh and yes a Shaman is fun k!
P.P.S. Flying mounts are rather nice! (Giev epic one though!)
